India Of My Dreams

The Expensive Indian Life There was a time when the prices of onion touched Rs. 80/- per k.g. and the people of India got the opportunity to bring the government down. But today the price of every daily need item has touched the unimaginable heights and poor Indians are co-operating with that. The Congress led UPA government comes out with funny rules without bothering about the masses and even without taking all the representatives of the public sitting in Parliament. The latest Aurangzeb style declaration fixing the number of gas cylinders for every household is just a foolish idea as the number of inmates in the houses varies and the requirement of fuel increases with every increase of a member. Rationing in these modern times is really a foolish idea. We are living in a country where hardly any outsider wants to live and we have only our own population to feed, whereas there are countries where not only Indians but people from many other nationalities have settled down. When those countries can arrange resources for their people as well as for outsiders then why can’t our country? The answer simply is that the country is managed, rather mismanaged, by some incompetent heads. The money which could be spent on arranging the resources, natural and manmade, is wasted in scams. Many people argue that the hefty pay packages have changed the economic scene in India and people can really afford to buy expensive commodities, but how many from more than 1.24 billion (world bank’s stats) Indians how many are getting these packages. Is India really great or this has just remained a slogan? I need an answer.
